Lauren M. Law

ASSOCIATE

Lauren M. Law is a trial attorney who focuses her practice on representing victims of employment discrimination and personal injury. Due to her keen eye for detail, Lauren is also integral in the firm’s complex business litigation and legal malpractice sections. She has also served as an expert in professional liability matters.

From preliminary investigation through trial, Lauren manages all aspects of her cases. She is an assertive advocate who is always looking to achieve the best results for her clients. Lauren has taken lead roles in deposing corporate and individual witnesses, expert preparation and depositions, and conducting trials. She is respected for her ability to successfully resolve disputes with sensitivity, patience, and persistence.

Quality, client-focused representation is important to Lauren. She understands that many legal disputes can be personal and very emotional. Lauren supplies frequent updates about client matters and is always available to answer any questions that clients have regarding their matter. Lauren learned at an early age the importance of honesty, hard work, and determination, and she strives to practice law with these hallmarks in mind.

Prior to joining Folkman Law Offices, Lauren served as a law clerk in a corporate defense firm’s Professional Liability Group. She also served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Karen M. Williams, U.S.D.J. Lauren received her Juris Doctor from Rutgers Law School. While in law school, Lauren was the Senior Editor of the Rutgers Journal of Law and Public Policy, a member of the Women’s Law Caucus, a Dean’s List recipient, and graduated with honors. She graduated cum laude from Stockton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.

She is licensed to practice law in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania, and she is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. Lauren is a member of the American Association for Justice (AAJ), the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ), and the Rutgers Law Alumni Association (RUAA). Lauren often speaks at continuing legal education seminars, teaching other lawyers how to practice employment law.

Lauren’s advocacy has clarified the law in many respects to help the victims and those most in need of access to our civil courts. Through its Amicus Curiae Committee, the NJAJ strives to keep a high profile in the New Jersey Appellate and Supreme Courts by promoting the rights of individuals. On behalf of NJAJ, Lauren is responsible for drafting Amicus Briefs in the following New Jersey Supreme Court cases:

  • Grande v. Saint Clare’s Health Sys., 230 N.J. 1, 164 A.3d 1030 (N.J. 2017), which considered at what point in the McDonnell Douglas analysis a Court is to consider the availability of a reasonable accommodation for a disability
  • Richter v. Oakland Bd. of Educ., 246 N.J. 507, 252 A.3d 161 (N.J. 2021), which allowed plaintiff to pursue personal injury damages originating from an employer’s failure to accommodate a disability
  • Delanoy v. Twp. of Ocean, 245 N.J. 384, 246 A.3d 188 (N.J. 2021), which involved Pregnancy Discrimination Under the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act
