Two separate pedestrian accidents caused personal injuries for one victim and a fatality for another on the weekend in South Jersey. The first incident took place around 10 pm on Saturday night on Route 38 and Chapel Avenue in Cherry Hill, New Jersey when a car hit a pedestrian. The victim sustained serious injuries, and was brought to the Cooper University Medical Center for treatment.
In the second incident, a pedestrian was struck on Route 73 in Maple Shade, New Jersey near the Lowe’s store on Sunday morning. Upon impact, the individual succumbed to fatal injuries at the scene of the accident.
Although pedestrians are protected by traffic laws in the state of New Jersey, unfortunately, many drivers are unaware of the laws in place or fail to use caution when pedestrians are in their paths. This may lead to physical harm for pedestrians ranging from minor to life-threatening injuries or even fatalities in catastrophic cases.
